The Many Hats Of Clomid

Sunday, November 29th, 2009
Dane Fletcher asked:

Clomid is an interesting drug.

In bodybuilding circles, Clomid is used to increase lean muscle mass and reduce fat. In the medical world, Clomid is useful for bodybuilders, and the general population as well, when they need a little help starting a family.

For men suffering from fertility issues, particularly low sperm cell count, Clomid can be a godsend. Men who use anabolic steroids in their 20s and 30s often suffer from low sperm count. Their testes halt production of testosterone and sperm cells, due to the fact that artificial testosterone is detected in the body. These men will possess high T-levels, but they will not be able to reproduce as a result of the testicular shutdown. As many men reach their 30s, they are ready to start a family. Clomid helps kickstart sperm cell production in males.

Scientists still cannot agree exactly how Clomid works. It’s fairly commonly accepted that Clomid convinces the brain that estrogen levels are low. As a result, the brain produces more estrogen, and more testosterone. Blood levels of natural testosterone rise and sperm cell counts rise as well. Usually within three months, men regain their ability to produce enough sperm for impregnation.

Are there side effects? Of course! Clomid causes gynecomastia, or the very dreaded “bitch tits”, a swelling of the fat around the nipples, which looks terrible on the bodybuilding stage when men diet down.

Clomid is not a steroid. It has no real androgenic properties. It doesn’t alter testosterone production by the testes, nor does it affect the endocrine system in any way. Some researchers believe longer-term Clomid use causes tumors, but there isn’t enough data yet available to make such a determination. Many bodybuilders use it because it does affect T-levels, and it is easily accessible, but aside from that, its place in a cycle is usually unnecessary. It should be used for muscle gaining purposes when no other compounds are available.

The FDA has not yet approved Clomid for fertility assistance, but it use has been practices for many years now. Bodybuilders and researchers know what the FDA usually takes much longer to recognize, Clomid helps bodybuilders regain ability to reproduce. Use it if you’re trying to start a family and your doctor determines your sperm count is just too low. If you’re looking to gain muscle, use it as a last resort, but work to gain access to testosterone and other more effective compounds. Happy training and parenting!

Health Risks And Dangers Of Using Anabolic Steroids

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009
Dane Fletcher asked:

It seems that the media is overwhelmed with warning us about the inherent danger that comes with the use of steroids, but also can’t help glorifying the people who use them. We are constantly being reminded that steroids can kill you. But when it comes to all of the different bodybuilding magazines and websites, they have chosen to show a more positive aspect of steroid use, and the muscle you can gain from it. The truth can be found in between these two aspects of steroids. The following are some aspects of steroids that are very important for bodybuilders, and anyone else who is planning on taking anabolic steroids.

Finding a Source

Steroids that you buy from people at the gym are usually known for being fakes. Sometimes they are even expired or toxic due to manufacturing faults. Unless you have obtained your steroids from a physician, it is more likely than usual that you have bought fake products.

Using Needles

For those who have very little experience with needles, it’s going to have to quickly become a familiar process. The procedure requires research, practice, and also courage. It takes guts and skill to be able to stick an inch of needle into your own body’s tissue without getting an infection.

Gynecomastia

Many of the bodybuilders who use anabolic steroids sometimes might receive breast tissue growth. This will result in embarrassing bumps near the nipples, which are usually known as “bitch tits”. These develop because of high estrogen levels, which is corrected by very expensive surgery.

Legal Issues

Unless you’ve been visiting another planet for the past few years, you’re no doubt knowledgeable of the recent chain of busts, which have led to the destruction of many suppliers and sellers of anabolic steroids. This means that suppliers and users all over the market are turning in their contacts and client information so that they can cut a deal and receive a less harsh punishment. Some shops are still operating, but they are now illegal. So unless the idea of being sent to jail or having to pay a large fine is appealing to you, buying steroids, even from someone you know, is not the best idea in the world.

Steroids have become an unavoidable aspect of top-level amateur and professional bodybuilding competition. But for the normal people in the gym, they are not seen as a sensible or responsible decision. It’s important to think about the possible consequences while going through the decision to use, and also to initiate your decision having gathered as much research as you can. There are no re-do’s when it comes to your health, not to mention the law.
